Filleigh Primary School runs a breakfast club for five mornings per week.  This is open from 7.50 to 8.50am and breakfast is provided if children arrive before 7.20am.  The cost is £2.50 per session, regardless of the time the children arrive, and must be paid for at the time of booking.  Mrs Huxtable runs the club from Monday to Wednesday with Mrs Burridge taking over for Thursday and Friday.  If numbers require an additional member of staff Mrs Norden or Mrs Latham help out.

As this is a popular club booking must be made half termly in advance.  Please complete the booking form (hyperlink) and return it to the school office, with your payment, to secure a place for your child/children.  Please note that payment must be made at the time of booking.  We will make every effort to accommodate short notice places if at all possible.  We work on very strict ratios of adults to children and cannot guarantee that space will be available, and may have to refuse entry, if you just turn up in the morning.

Please use our Breakfast Club Booking Form  to book a place.

Monday's: "Lets Get Cooking Club"

Mrs Latham and Mrs Palmer run our cooking club on a Monday and this runs from 3.00pm until 4.30pm works on average blocks of 5 weeks.  This club is run by invite only and is available for our year 6's.

'Lets Get Cooking' is a national club that started with Lottery Funding. The idea of the club is that we can engage young people and hopefully get them interested in cooking. The club explores using healthy alternatives and not only teaches cooking skills but also health and hygiene and preparation and cleaning up after themselves. The children work on different tasks and have the opportunity to work individually in pairs or altogether as a small group.

Please click on the link for this week's recipe:

Oat Cookies  This recipe is easy to make and they taste delicious

Tempting Tiramisu   This delicious pudding comes from Italy, the children really enjoyed the flavours in this easy to make, no cook recipe.

Pink Lady Lemonade  A refreshing and very healthy alternative to an old favourite.

Alternate Tuesday's: Computer Club

This club is run by Mr Dean Tickner and runs on every other Tuesday. The first date of this club is Tuesday 10th January 2017 and is only open for year 6's. Permission slips must be signed and returned before children can attend.

Thursday's: Running Cub

This club is for KS2 and runs between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.  The children are taken around to different sights (permission and Risk Assessments are in place) and given a taste of long distance running. Miss Leggot (a seasoned marathon runner) is in charge of this club and is helping to improve fitness and introduce her skills of distance running to the children. She is also accompanied by Mrs Laura Knapman and Mr M Wright. The runners will need to bring a change of old sports clothes to run in and bright tops to wear. This can be quite a muddy event!!!!

Children can only join once permission slips have been signed and returned.

Unfortunately sometimes these clubs need to be cancelled. We endeavor to contact you if this is the case but sometimes this is out of our control.

On Sunday 16th July 30 children from Filleigh took part in the 2K Junior Parkrun.  The children ran very well and Miss Leggott was very proud of them all.  A huge thank you to parents for supporting this event.
