Butterflies

Butterflies class is made up of Year 1 and 2 pupils. We support our children to make the important transition from the Early Years to Key Stage One, through a mixture of formal whole-class teaching, guided group work and independent learning.

Our children love to keep busy with outdoor learning and practical tasks. We incorporate this style of learning into our continuous provision offer; which provides both structured and child-led opportunities for children to go over prior learning and investigate new ideas. We link our behaviour expectations to our whole-school work around our UNICEF Rights Respecting Award and aim to foster a culture of respect and care between our pupils and for the natural environment.

Pupils in our class have opportunities to work alongside our younger classes, particularly for creative projects such as plays, music performances and art projects.

The class teacher, Mrs Eggleton is supported by Megan Barrable to provide learning targeted to the needs of each child.  Mrs Lindy Buckley teaches the class for one morning a week.
